Macro 4 VSE solutions support latest VSEⁿ operating system and middleware for IBM mainframes

We're pleased to announce that our VSE solutions now support VSEn, the new, rebranded version of z/VSE.
Our VSE customers can receive a free upgrade to the new versions of our software by emailing mainframe.support@macro4.com.
Our commitment to supporting VSEn means that customers will be able to benefit from future improvements to the VSE operating system, including requests from the VSE user community and exciting developments such as cloud compatibility, announced last year by the new supplier of VSEn, 21st Century Software.

VMware announced a vulnerability (CVE-2022-22963) in their Spring Framework on March 29, 2022. The vulnerability is within the Spring Cloud function allowing remote code execution.
A further vulnerability (CVE-2022-22965) has also been identified on March 31, 2022. This vulnerability affects the Spring Framework RCE and Spring Boot data-binding, if running Java 9 or above.
We are pleased to state that no Macro 4 products are affected by this vulnerability.

Apache published a critical vulnerability within the Apache log4j java library on December 6, 2021 (CVE-2021-44228). This vulnerability allows an attacker who can control log messages or log message parameters to execute arbitrary code loaded from LDAP servers when message lookup substitution is enabled.
A small number of Macro 4 products are affected:
- Columbus Administrator all versions
- Columbus Central 9.1 versions using Task Plan Editor V2
- M4Explorer 5.1
On December 17, 2021, Apache published a new log4j vulnerability (CVE-2021-45105). This vulnerability affects the same identified products.
